It was published in the Northwest Indiana Times in Valparaiso, Indiana.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div id=\"attachment_4632\" style=\"width: 201px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/jessicagreen.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/4331_04200.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4632\" class=\"size-full wp-image-4632\" title=\"Obituary for James Kemmerly\" src=\"https:\/\/jessicagreen.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/4331_04200.jpg\" alt=\"Obituary for James Kemmerly\" width=\"191\" height=\"600\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-4632\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Obituary for James Kemmerly<\/p><\/div>\n<p>James &#8220;Jim&#8221; Kemmerly<br \/>\nCrown Point<br \/>\nJames &#8220;Jim&#8221; Kemmerly, 78, of Crown Point, passed away Sunday, October 1, 2000 at his home.\u00c2\u00a0 Survived by his wife Katherine, of 45 years; children: Linda Collins (Chuck) Leinonen of Crown Point, Charles Kemmerly of Crown Point, and Jami Kemmerly of Highland; grandchildren: Joel Collins, Jessica Collins, Aubrey Kemmerly and Derek Leinonen; great-grandchildren, Daniel Collins and Hailie Collins; special friend &#8220;Fritz&#8221;; and a sister, Gloria Simmons of Chicago.\u00c2\u00a0 Preceded in death by his parents, Sherman and Irene Kemmerly and son, James Earl Kemmerly.<br \/>\nFuneral services will be held Thursday, October 5, 2000, at 10 a.m. from the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 South Cline Ave., Schererville, Indiana, (one miles south of US 30).\u00c2\u00a0 Burial, Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville.\u00c2\u00a0 Friends may meet with the family Wednesday, October 4th, 2 to 9 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home.<br \/>\nJim was the owner of K &amp; W Trophies in Crown Point; member of Navajo Saddle Club and numerous saddle clubs.\u00c2\u00a0 He was a member of the Lake County Agricultural Society and Superintendent of the Western Show.\u00c2\u00a0 He was retired from Chicago Flame Hardening.\u00c2\u00a0 A Lieutenant with the Merchant Marines.\u00c2\u00a0 Jim&#8217;s favorite past time was camping and trail riding with his friends.\u00c2\u00a0 In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to the family.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is the obituary for James Kemmerly, the husband of my grandmother&#8217;s sister Katherine (Fitzgerald) Kemmerly.
