Gerszewski"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This week we take a look at the lineage of the Gerszewski surname as it pertains to my family&#8217;s history.\u00c2\u00a0 I haven&#8217;t had much luck with this line either.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Earliest Known Ancestor<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Mary Gerszewski, my 2nd great-grandmother, was born in September of 1847 in Lippuschutte, Poland.\u00c2\u00a0 The 1900 US Census shows she arrived in the United States in 1868, which is the same year she says she married Frank Stroik (1835 &#8211; 1918).<\/p>\n<p>Mary and her husband Frank Stroik had approximately seven children, all of whom were born in Wisconsin I believe in the Stevens Point area.\u00c2\u00a0 They children were: John (1871 \u00e2\u20ac\u201c ?), Teophil or Francis (1873 \u00e2\u20ac\u201c\u00c2\u00a0 ?), Anna (1875 \u00e2\u20ac\u201c ?), my great-grandfather Andrew Anton Stroik (1876 \u00e2\u20ac\u201c 1929), Anastacia (1877 \u00e2\u20ac\u201c ?), Johnie C (1884 \u00e2\u20ac\u201c ?), Nicholas (1886 \u00e2\u20ac\u201c ?) and Ladislaus (aka Landie or Walter) Joseph Stroik 1890 \u00e2\u20ac\u201c ?).<\/p>\n<p>Mary died on February 15, 1930 in Wisconsin, probably in or near Stevens Point.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong> <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_4490\" style=\"width: 302px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/jessicagreen.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/Gerszewski.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4490\" class=\"size-full wp-image-4490\" title=\"Lineage of the Gerszewski Surname\" src=\"https:\/\/jessicagreen.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/Gerszewski.jpg\" alt=\"Lineage of the Gerszewski Surname\" width=\"292\" height=\"329\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jessicagreen.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/Gerszewski.jpg 292w, https:\/\/jessicagreen.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/Gerszewski-133x150.jpg 133w, https:\/\/jessicagreen.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/Gerszewski-266x300.jpg 266w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 292px) 100vw, 292px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-4490\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Lineage of the Gerszewski Surname<\/p><\/div>\n<p><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Lineage<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Jessica Marie Cole &gt;
