Stroik"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This week we take a look at the lineage of the Stroik surname as it pertains to my family&#8217;s history.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Earliest Known Ancestor<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>My 3rd great grandfather was Andreas Stroik.\u00c2\u00a0 Andreas was born around 1802 in either Lipusz, Prussia or Gandsk\/Danzig, Poland.\u00c2\u00a0 He married a woman named Marianna Pellowski (or Pelowska) around 1824, based on the birth years of all of their children.\u00c2\u00a0 We don&#8217;t have their marriage record nor we have their immigration records.<\/p>\n<p>I honestly don&#8217;t know how my ancestors were able to manage with such large families, especially with as poor as they were.\u00c2\u00a0 It simply amazes me.\u00c2\u00a0 The children of Andreas and Marianna were:<\/p>\n<p>Victoria (1825 \u00e2\u20ac\u201c 1917), Dorothy (1828 \u00e2\u20ac\u201c 1914), Andreas (1831 \u00e2\u20ac\u201c 1832), Mariana (1833 \u00e2\u20ac\u201c 1898), my 2nd great-grandfather Francis Stroik (1835 \u00e2\u20ac\u201c 1918), Magdalene (1836 \u00e2\u20ac\u201c 1916), Rosalia Julianna (1837 \u00e2\u20ac\u201c 1837), Albert (1840 \u00e2\u20ac\u201c 1841), Josephine (1842 \u00e2\u20ac\u201c 1862), Joseph (1843 \u00e2\u20ac\u201c 1919), Christoph (1845 \u00e2\u20ac\u201c 1915), John M (1849 \u00e2\u20ac\u201c 1920) and little Elizabeth Stroik (1852 \u00e2\u20ac\u201c 1852).<\/p>\n<p>All 13 of their children were born in Prussia, Poland so I believe they immigrated to the United States sometime after 1852.\u00c2\u00a0 Andreas died on 26 Jan 1868 in Sharon, Portage, Wisconsin.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong> <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_4484\" style=\"width: 293px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/jessicagreen.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/Stroik.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4484\" class=\"size-full wp-image-4484\" title=\"Lineage for the Stroik Surname\" src=\"https:\/\/jessicagreen.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/Stroik.jpg\" alt=\"Lineage for the Stroik Surname\" width=\"283\" height=\"384\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jessicagreen.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/Stroik.jpg 283w, https:\/\/jessicagreen.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/Stroik-110x150.jpg 110w, https:\/\/jessicagreen.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/Stroik-221x300.jpg 221w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 283px) 100vw, 283px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-4484\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Lineage for the Stroik Surname<\/p><\/div>\n<p><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Lineage<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Jessica Marie Cole &gt;
