She was the seventh of fifteen children born to Vondall Euart Fitzgerald and Jennie Mae Fisher.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Smiling in a grade school portrait\" rel=\"lightbox[FMF]\" href=\"https:\/\/jessicagreen.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/07\/00794.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/jessicagreen.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/07\/00794.thumbnail.jpg\" alt=\"Smiling in a grade school portrait\" \/><\/a>Florence was given her middle name from her mother, Jennie Mae.  Florence gave her only daughter Colleen Mae that name as well.  Later, her son Douglass continued the tradition naming his first daughter Kathleen Mae.
