Andrew Anton Stroik
July 1st, 2007 by Jessica

Andrew Anton Stroik was born on November 26, 1876 in Portage County, Wisconsin. Note that his headstone says he was born in 1873. His parents were Francis Stroik (1835-1908) and Mary Gerszewski (1847- 1930), both from Prussia.

Andrew married Mary Admcek and had one known daughter named Johanna in 1899. He then married Helen Gorski sometime around September, 1906, in Wisconsin. Andrew and Helen had eleven children together: Frank, then a stillborn infant, then Mary Rose, Edward, Benjamin, Walter F., Anthony, Domenick, Esther Ann, Stella and Stanley (twins).

His last two children, Stella and Stanley, were born after Andrew passed away. He died on August 8, 1929 in Richland, Kalamazoo County, Michigan. He is buried in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Merrill, Michigan next to his second wife Helen.

An interesting note about the Stroik family and twins: Andrew & Helen Stroik had twins as their last set (Stella & Stanley). Their daughter Mary Rose Stroik had three sets of twins in her lifetime (Wilma & Walter, miscarried set, and Daniel & Diane). Additionally, their daughter Esther Ann Stroik, had a daughter (Stella Nemeth) who had twins, Richard & Joseph Blower.

Note: You’d better watch out if you’re a Stroik descendent. There’s a good chance you’ll be having twins!
